Background:Explosion of Knowledge Knowledge is increasing at an exponential rate resulting in a massive amount of knowledge that is extremely difficult to process only by human. Learning progresses by dividing research themes into increasingly smaller fields, but this means that specialists must work within narrow areas of study preventing them from giving expert opinions on matters outside their personal domains. As a result, complicated problems cannot be handled without obtaining an overall picture of things, but this is beyond the capability of any one person.
What is Knowledge Structuring? Knowledge structuring clarifies the relation between one element of knowledge and another. Relations come in various forms such as hierarchical, cause-and-effect, associative, and similarity. The knowledge structuring process focuses on particular types of relations according to the immediate purpose, forms such relations among a large volume of distributed knowledge, and develop a knowledge system.
